Intercultural impulses and awareness raising about cultural diversity in kindergarten work
The kindergarten has 60 kids aged between 2-6 years who are divided in 5 groups with 2 educators in each. I volunteer in the Samarian group which has 23 kids and so I help them in many different activities like make hand crafts, paintings, help them in dressing as they go for playing, share with them african games among others. We always have breakfast and lunch with the kids, once in a week we take the kids to church for bible studies and move out of the kindergarten to other play grounds for a change.
The kindergarten opens from Monday to Friday at 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.
This kind of intercultural intergration has improved my perspective towards kindergartens and when I go back to my home country I hope to share the gained knowledge with my fellow ugandans as well as startup the same project because I now think kindergartens give the best foundation to kids in their future education.
